Think about the last time you had a good day, like a really, really good day? What made it so great? What thoughts, feelings, and actions did you experience?
Think about it for a few moments and I will tell you about mine.
My super great day was last week. I had gone to work, had several coaching conversations, watched people come up with their own aha’s and empowering moments, saw so many smiles, created powerful communications, ate one of my favorite lunches (yum) and with a good friend, had conversations about love, family, passion, manifestation and connectedness, shared and mentored on coaching philosophy, found out I'm going to a concert with my high school friends, heard from a few other friends and family, went out to eat with my husband after a one month hiatus from restaurant going (February goal accomplished, yay), and realized that day I was putting my best self out there while utilizing some of my best gifts.
That day was so impactful because I was able to live my passion and support people. I, in return, was also supported and felt good about decisions I had made like going back to school and thinking about my future.
Thoughts included how much I enjoyed coaching and connecting with people. Feelings included gratitude and love. Actions included leaning in, acting with curiosity, and listening with intention. This was a great recipe for fulfillment.
One major thing to point out was mindset. Most people who know me know that I’m pretty positive. However, that doesn’t mean that sometimes unfortunate things happen and I do experience the lows from those challenges. With that being said, something did happen that morning where I was a bit bummed, but I made the choice that I was not going to let that get me down. This one item could have completely derailed my day, but I chose to let go of control and live in the flow of the day embracing what is to come.
We all have the choice. You have your ups and downs and sideways and diagonal paths. Sometimes you have multiple paths and sometimes you have one path. And maybe, there is a path that you don’t necessarily know yet, but it’s there, just on a different plane. Regardless, you get to choose how you want to move forward.
I have so much gratitude for this day, but I’m also so appreciative of all the paths I’ve walked down. Some of them have been dark and mirky, but some of them have had so much sunshine that it makes me feel so lucky to be alive, awake, and fully embrace the power of choice.
